From my last post many of you already know that I\u2019m maintaining some components for RAD Studio<\/a>, particularly Delphi<\/a> but also for C++Builder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As I mentioned in that post Embarcadero<\/a> sponsored me to this work and Embarcadero\u2019s RAD Studio Product Manager Marco Cant\u00f9<\/a> convinced me to clean up the code and only support the latest version of RAD Studio.<\/p>\n

I did the work half a year ago for RAD Studio XE7 and with the brand new XE8<\/a> release we thought that we can do things better. That’s why we decided to the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. We renamed all components and put them under the new name TurboPack<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. We moved them all from Sourceforge to GitHub<\/a> to a central place.<\/li>\n
  3. For older versions of RAD Studio we created separate branches, e.g. TurboPack-XE3<\/a>, TurboPack-XE5<\/a> and TurboPack-XE7<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. We added further components like SysTools, OnGuard and Essentials.<\/li>\n
  5. For real FMX support we started to split a library into a VCL and FMX version, the VCL version became a branch of the FMX version.<\/li>\n
  6. Embarcadero introduced the great GetIt<\/a> package manager that automatically allows to install a library into the IDE.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The current libraries are:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. VirtualTreeView<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. AsyncPro<\/a><\/li>\n
    3. OnGuard VCL<\/a><\/li>\n
    4. OnGuard FMX<\/a><\/li>\n
    5. LockBox<\/a><\/li>\n
    6. LockBox 3<\/a><\/li>\n
    7. SysTools<\/a><\/li>\n
    8. PowerPDF<\/a><\/li>\n
    9. Orpheus<\/a><\/li>\n
    10. SynEdit<\/a><\/li>\n
    11. Abbrevia<\/a><\/li>\n
    12. Essentials<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      For future work I can do the following:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Adding further libraries<\/li>\n
      2. Creating branches for older versions of RAD Studio<\/li>\n
      3. Introducing FMX versions of Abbrevia or LockBox.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
